3D Graphics
The 3D graphics has become basilar in the latest years in seversl sectors: from the most common (cinema, videogames, architectural or industrial design), to the most modern ones, like the interactive virtual environment or air touching interactive. The visual and sensory experience created by the 3D graphics nowadays is the highest. Think about the 3D movies or Tv, based on old concepts, but now developed with advanced technologie; the results are so perfect that we can imagine the science-fiction age quite near.
In this very sector, merged with the interactive design, we think will be developed systems for all the uses: private and business.
With the increasing of this market, now the use is more accessible, both in flexibility and in matter of costs.
Infact, with the decreasing of the creation time and of the costs, the whole sector and the users have benefits.
The 3D graphics, just like the 2D one, at the moment has several uses.
The most common uses are: virtual environment, photorealistic rendering, simulated environments, mark restyling, architectural settings rendering, photo/video postproduction.
The approach to the 3D graphics is more technical than the 2D one, concernig both the software and the hardware. Sometimes it's essential a render farm in order to be able to faster process the enormous amount of data needed to make for example a video sequence.
Please, fine below a short desription to the 3 main phases of our 3D creations:
Modelling
Modelling is the first phase, and the most important: it's where is built the whole 3D model, the base of anyfurther processing. There are several technics to model an object or an environment; we prefer the polygonal one. It's more flexible, especially while we need to work on external projects of mechanical engineers or architects.
Rendering
This is the most delicate phase, and it conosists on: the selection of the lighting systems, the materials and the shader; the selection of the rendering engine, the cameras and other factors. Rendering request the largest time, because the most of the processing are during this phase.
Post production
The last processing is the postpproduction: whatever 3D product, a image render or a video, needs this "optimization phase" to make the right calibrations (for example color adjustments) to make a perfect final result.
Besides, in the video productions, it's in the postproduction phase that are made the cuttings, the montages or the Croma Key separation for mixing real shots and audio. .
